Bidding-style draft

A league consists of either 4 or 6 teams.

At the start of the season, teams gather for an auction-style draft, where they bid to secure drivers for their roster. The draft typically lasts 20–30 minutes and is often held in person or via video call. This fast-paced auction is a fun and memorable highlight of the game! Each team has a budget of 60 credits. In a league of 6 teams, each team must win 3 drivers to complete their roster. In a league of 4 teams, each team must win 5 drivers to complete their roster.

Teams take turns nominating a driver, and bidding follows, for example

Alice: I bid 1 for Ocon
Bob: I bid 2 for Ocon
Clara: I pass
David: I pass
Alice: I bid 3 for Ocon
Bob: I bid 4 for Ocon
Alice: I pass

Bob wins Ocon for 4 credits, leaving him with 56 credits for the rest of his roster.

Once the auction concludes, the rosters might look something like this:

Head-to-head gameplay

Each weekend, your team competes against another team in your league, aiming to score more fantasy points than your opponent.

Before qualifying begins, you must choose your lineup from your roster. In the example below, if you’re in a 6-team league, you select 2 drivers from your 3-driver roster (Leclerc, Russell, Ocon). In a 4-team league, you select 3 drivers from your 5-driver roster.

You can’t always pick your strongest drivers due to the fair selection rule: at the end of the season, the difference between your most-selected and least-selected driver can be at most one. If your lineup violates this rule, the app will notify you and prompt you to adjust your selection.

After the race, results are calculated automatically, here is an example:

After the race, results are calculated automatically, here is an example:

In this case, Asphalt Rippers wins with 25 fantasy points, defeating Block Busters, who scores 14. Note that a team must score at least 7 fantasy points more than their opponent to win. In this example, Main Aienai and Team Oktilio are only separated by 3 points, so they tie.

Breaking down the fantasy points in this example, Asphalt Rippers’ 25 points come from Leclerc, who earns 18 fantasy points for finishing 2nd and 1 point for being elected Driver of the Day, plus Russell, who adds 6 fantasy points for his 7th-place finish. After the 11th position, drivers start to accumulate negative points, making the initial auction for lower-tier drivers more important, as their positions can significantly impact your score.

Each victory is worth 3 points in the ranking and each tie is worth 1 point. With the sample results above, the ranking after the first race is as follows.

Note the difference between points and fantasy points: fantasy points are based on your driver lineup performance on the track and determine the outcome of your match - whether you win, tie, or lose. The result of the match then decides whether you earn 3, 1, or 0 points in the overall ranking.

Fantasy point system

The fantasy point system is designed to be:

  1. Simple
It’s easy to calculate how many points your drivers are earning while watching the race.

  2. Representative
It reflects the driver’s real performance. Most fantasy points align with actual race points (e.g., 25 for a race victory).

  3. Balanced
Every position beyond the top 10 results in an additional negative point. This ensures that even bottom-half drivers play a key role in the auction—a driver who consistently scores between -8 and -10 can really hurt your performance!

Every driver gets points for qualifying, sprint, and race according to the following tables.

Additional rules

  1. You select one lineup per weekend, which is valid for qualifying, sprint (if present), and race.

  2. For sprint weekends, the lineup deadline is the start of sprint qualifying.

  3. The fair selection rule also applies to sprint races, meaning that at the end of the season there can be at most a difference of 1 sprint selection between your most selected sprint driver and your least selected sprint driver. Also in this case, the app will notify you if your selection violates this rule.

  4. If two or more teams are tied in points in the ranking, the following criteria are used to determine who ranks higher: fantasy points, victories, individual driver with most fantasy points.

  5. If a driver gets replaced in real life with another for one or more races (as happened in 2024 with Bearman for Sainz for one race or with Lawson for Ricciardo for many races) , the team automatically gets the new driver.

  6. If both teams score 0 points or fewer, the match ends in a tie. A team must score at least 1 fantasy point to win.
